The Regional Animal Shelter (RAS) is a municipal facility that provides for the care and welfare of displaced animals from King William and King and Queen Counties. The RAS assists citizens of our community with a wide range of services such as:

  • Pet adoption to suitable permanent homes
  • Tracking of lost and found animals
  • Redemption of animals to their owners
  • Dog licensing for King William and King and Queen Counties

RAS submits our monthly data numbers through Best Friends Animal Society's data submission platform, Shelter Pet Data Alliance (SPDA).  

Below, you can review our shelter management data in real time through their platform. You are able to view how many animals we are taking into our shelter, as well as how many animals are leaving our shelter every single month. We hope this helps our community understand the work that we do and that you all are crucial to helping us save lives.
