In accordance with Virginia Comprehensive Animal Law, Article 5. Rabies Control and Licensing of Dogs and Cats, all dogs 4 months of age or older must be licensed annually.

King William and King and Queen County residents must license their dog by February 1st of each calendar year if the dog is 4 months of age or older. A current rabies vaccination certificate is required to license your pet. Dog license tags are to be securely fastened and displayed on the dog’s collar.
Cats are not required to be licensed in King William or King & Queen, although, all cats 4 months of age or older must have a current rabies vaccination.
