County Ordinances Pertaining to Animals
10-33: Rabies inoculation of dogs and cats; availability of certificate
- All dogs and cats must have a current rabies vaccination
10-35: Notification by individual finding a companion animal
- An individual that finds companion animals and provides care/self-keeping must make a reasonable attempt to contact the owner and the animal shelter within 48 hours
10-61: Licensed required
- Must show proof of rabies vaccination to obtain dog license
10-64: DOGS MUST WEAR LICENSE
- Any dog not wearing a collar bearing a valid license tag of the proper calendar year shall be deemed to be unlicensed
10-69: Dogs running at large
- No dog is permitted to run at large in any part of the county from April 1st through May 31st
- No dog is permitted to run at large year-round in:
- R-1 zone areas
- Corinth Heights Subdivision
- Corr Walker Subdivision (Beaver Creek)
- Timberland Estates Subdivision
- Rose Garden Estates
- Reed Brothers Subdivision
- Edge Hill Farm Subdivision
- Cherry Hill Subdivision
- Spring Pleasants Subdivision
10-95: Animals creating nuisance
- Damages, soils, or destroys public or private property
- Interference with molest or attacks people or other animals
- Chases, snaps at, harasses or impedes pedestrians, bicyclists or vehicles
- Dangerous to the public’s health, safety or welfare.
- Allowing a female dog to run at large while in heat
10-96: Noise from animals
- Meaning any howling, barking, or other animal noise which continues for no less than 30 consecutive minutes with no cessation in such sound for a period greater than 5 minutes during the consecutive 30 minutes.
