Planning Commission

The purpose of the Planning Commission is: to promote the orderly development of King William County in accordance with the Code of Virginia, Title 15.2, Chapter 22. In accomplishing the objectives, the Commission is to serve in an advisory capacity to the Board by preparing plans, ordinances, and other documents to the Board and to carry out all activities as designated by the Board. The Commission also approves, amends, and approves, or disapproves of the Comprehensive Plan in accord with the provisions of 15.2- 2225.

Meetings

  • 1st Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm and special meetings as called.
  • Held in the County Administration Building Board Room - 180 Horse Landing Road, King William, VA 23086.

Member Requirements

  • Five members - appointed by the King William County Board of Supervisors.
  • Must file appropriate Conflict of Interest form with the Deputy Clerk to the Board of Supervisors upon appointment and annually thereafter.
  • Four-year staggered terms.
